Stefanie Maridueña is an ACE Eddie and Emmy nominated television editor living in NYC. Her experience working on documentary series includes verite filmmaking, archival heavy storytelling and the documenting of current events. Her credits include the sports docu-series "America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders" and "Cheer" on Netflix, "The 1619 Project" on Hulu, and "The Circus" on Showtime. She prides herself for her ability to bring an empathetic lens to the edit and ensuring a story is told with clarity and creativity.
Born in the outskirts of the Ecuadorean rainforest, she attributes her empathetic editing approach to her upbringing in Latin America and experience as an immigrant in the United States. Through her work, she aims to accurately represent varying perspectives while exposing the struggles and issues affecting different communities. Ultimately, she hopes to continue to tell stories that highlight the human experience and focus on social justice and environmental issues.
When she’s not editing, Stefanie enjoys running, going to karaoke in the LES and spending quality time with her dog, Gaia.
